Final Racism Blog
January 9, 2007After reading the book Huck Finn I realized how that controversy with racism has never changed. Racism began way back when there were slaves and white plantation owners. White plantation ownes thought they were more superior than the slaves because, they had money, were educated, and were not ”cursed.” Throughtout the years this has continue but in different levels. The most popular level is the one where people use it for satire or as comedy. Many comedians turn to racism as a way to entertain people and get famous because, many people enjoy laughing at others. However, this changes when the joke is on them and not on the rest. Many people do not believe racism exists. However, it may not be visible but it diffinetly impacts everyday life. I do not appreciate the racism I had to deal with in the book Huck Finn because, towards the end it seems like Huck did not completely mature and saw Jim as a joke. In the end of the book when Huck meets back up with Tom the book went down hill and made me mad. Huck forgot the bond that was built between him and him and decided to lock that bond and forget about how precious it was not to be as ignorant.
